Astana. May 16. KazTAG - 1500 patents for different innovations "are not commercialized" at the territory of Kazakhstan due to the lack of specialists, said Yerbol Suleimenov, deputy chair of the science committee of the Ministry of Education and Science.
"According to the data of 2012 there are 1500 patents (for innovations-KazTAG) in Kazakhstan, which have not been commercialized due to the lack of specialists. Everyone must do his work. Scientists invent. Commercialization is the task of economists, market specialists, lawyers in the branch of intellectual property," he said at the press-conference on the project of science development policy of "Aspanadu" fund.
In his opinion, patent registration must not be in and of itself goal for scientists.
"Scientists cannot develop business plans. They must not be blamed for this," he resumed.
As reported, in December 2012 the President ordered the Government to analyze all the earlier registered patents and register author rights with a view to their commercialization.
