2500 internet sources with illegal content revealed in Kazakhstan in 2017

08.11.2017 Almaty. November 8. KazTAG - 2500 internet-sources with illegal content have been revealed this year in Kazakhstan, reports the Ministry on Religions Affairs and Civil Community.
"The content of 5527 internet sources has been checked in 2017, 2487 of them contained illegal materials. Negative expert conclusions on these sites have been sent to the Ministry of Information and Communications to take appropriate technical measures, mainly in order to block such sites," reads the message.
The department also conducted expertise of religious literature and other materials.
"3495 materials went through a religious expertise in 2017, 179 of them got negative conclusions," reads the message.
The main task of religious expertise is to check discrepancy to the norms of Constitution and legislation of Kazakhstan, and also violation of rights and freedom of people.
The Ministry has developed law amendments regulating religious activity.  52 amendments will be brought into 9 laws and 2 codes.
