Kazakhstan is ready to provide platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine - Abayev

Astana. May 6. KazTAG – Kazakhstan is ready to provide a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, said Dauren Abayev , Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia.
“Kazakhstan is always ready to help in all processes that affect the world. This is not only Russia and Ukraine, but also Armenia and Azerbaijan, on Syrian issues, on Iranian issues. It’s probably said loudly - to be mediators, but we are certainly ready to provide a platform, create some conditions,” Abayev said in an interview with TASS.
Abayev noted that there are many different initiatives to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
“Moreover, you know, there are now many different initiatives, and there is a clear understanding that without Russia’s participation these processes are impossible. Of course, Russia’s opinion must always be taken into account in these processes. Of course, we are ready to be, as I say, not intermediaries, but to provide a platform, to create some conditions,” he added.
The day before it was reported that negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia would take place in Almaty. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev supported the agreement of the countries to hold, at the proposal of the Kazakh side, negotiations between the ministers of foreign affairs to prepare a peace treaty between them.
