Payments from insurers increased by almost 30% H1

Astana. May 6. KazTAG - Insurance payments from insurers increased by 29.9% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2023, reports the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of Kazakhstan.
“Insurance payments for March 2024 amounted to KZT21.9 billion. Since the beginning of 2024, insurance payments amounted to KZT64.9 billion, which is 29.9% more than for the same period last year,”  reads the report.
According to the document, the increase is mainly due to an increase in payments for compulsory insurance and life insurance. In total, 107.9 thousand payments were made in March 2024, and 326.1 thousand payments since the beginning of 2024.
The number of concluded insurance contracts for individuals and legal entities in March 2024 amounted to 1,531 thousand contracts, which was 2% higher than in February 2024. Since the beginning of 2024, 4,449 thousand contracts have been concluded, which was 36% more than in the first quarter of 2023. The main growth was in accident insurance contracts - 700 thousand contracts and life insurance - 416 thousand contracts.
