Beef prices climbed by almost 9% at markets of Almaty

Almaty. September 26. KazTAG - Beef prices have climbed by almost 9% at the central markets of Almaty.
The average price of beef on bone makes 1575 tenge per 1 kg, against 1450 tenge (+8.6%). Sirloin price makes 2100 tenge per 1 kg (9%) (against 1925 tenge per 1 kg).
The average price of horse meat and mutton remained unchanged.
The Ministry of Agriculture in the reply to the official request of the agency provided the statistics data which indicate 1656 tenge per 1 kg of scapula-thoracic part of beef, while the real price on the markets is 100 tenge more expensive (1750 tenge per 1 kg).
The Ministry of Agriculture said no increase of wholesale prices for meat have been observed over the past week.
"Currently, beef price in Almaty makes 1380-1420 tenge per 1 kg, horse meat - 1550-1650 tenge, and lamb -  1150-1200 tenge per 1 kg", said the Ministry.
According to the monitoring of meat prices held by the  KazTAG  agency in mid-September this year, the highest meat prices in Kazakhstan are observed in Pavlodar - where the cost of 1 kg of beef sirloin ranges from 2100 tenge to 3000 tenge, and meat on the bone - from 1700 tenge  to 1850 tenge. Then in this rating follow Almaty, Baikonur, Astana, and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
