Majilis approves bill banning face covering clothes in Kazakhstan in first reading

Astana. May 16. KazTAG - Majilis deputies have endorsed the bill "On amendments into some legal acts on religious activity and religious unions" in the first reading.
"The bill  is supposed to improve the current legislation in the religious sphere by introducing amendments and additions to the 3 Code and 9 laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan," reads the report of profile committee of Majilis.
At the same time, the norms of the draft law are listed.
The basic norms of the bill are aimed at introducing a ban on wearing of clothing in public places that impede recognition of a person, with the establishment of administrative liability for its violation. The bill bans participation of minors under the age of 16 in worship services, religious ceremonies, if unaccompanied by one parent, the law bans attendance of religious services by children in case of objection of one parent," reads the message.
