Situation in EAEU among causes of rise in food products price in Kazakhstan

Astana. November 26. KazTAG - Timur Suleimenov has named the situation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) among the causes of rise in food prices in Kazakhstan.
"The main drivers of food prices growth is increase of prices on the EAEU market, as well as growth of overheads in the structure of cost price," he said at the session of the Government.
The index of prices for significant food products increased by 0.2% in comparison to previous week.
"As of November 23 growth in prices made 1.9% since January. Growth of prices has been fixed for sugar, rice, poultry," he said.
He added rise in sugar prices was caused by the fact that much of crude products are imported.
Rise in rice price was caused by increase of prices for lubricants and communal expenses, while rise in poultry price was caused by a big share of import.
"50% of poultry is imported from the US. Rise in dollar rate also affects increase of this product price. Sunflower oil - cancellation of fare for export of Russian sunflower oil to Turkey, which was 36%, thus there is insignificant rise in prices," he said.
