Supreme Court fully acquitted Seitkazy and Aset Matayev

Astana. July 19. KazTAG - The Supreme Court has fully acquitted well-known Kazakh journalists Seitkazy and Aset Matayev.
The Supreme Court at a meeting on Tuesday has canceled the verdict of the court of the city of Astana dated December 9, 2016 against Seitkazy and Aset Matayev. Reading out his verdict, the judge explained that the Matayev had been rehabilitated and acquitted. They also have the right for compensation for the damage caused by the illegal actions of the bodies that conducted the criminal process.
Seitkazy and Aset Matayev were convicted in 2016. The criminal prosecution was accompanied by an attempted raider takeover of the KazTAG agency. In fact,  guilt of the Matayev in the case, which was recognized as politically motivated both in Kazakhstan and abroad, was not proven on any of the charges, which, however, did not prevent the Kazakh court from passing a guilty verdict. At the same time, none of the participants in the custom-made persecution of the Matayev has been punished for this.
