10 stations for monitoring of moraine lakes commissioned in mountains of Almaty

Almaty. November 6. KazTAG - 10 stations for monitoring of moraine lakes have been put into operation in the mountains of Almaty, reports the press service of the city emergency department.
“Within the framework of the working visit of Yuri Ilyin, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, to the department of emergency situations of Almaty, it was reported about introduction of automated mudflow hazard monitoring system , designed to monitor and assess the breakthrough hazard of moraine lakes, monitor the hydro-meteorological situation and prevent mudflows. The first stage has been completed,  10 monitoring stations have been launched, which in online mode are capable of transmitting  10 monitoring parameters directly from two dangerous lakes, channels and possible  mudflows to the dispatching office," reads the message.
All the measured parameters are scientifically substantiated, the project, financed by the Almaty administration, has passed state examination.
“Now the temperature and water level, air temperature, rainfall and other parameters, including video and photos, are recorded without human intervention every hour and in real time and transferred to the emergency situations department and Kazselezashita. The project performance will be completed in 2020," said the message.
