1600 mw additional power capacities to be launched in Kazakhstan in 2015

Astana. January 9. KazTAG - Additional electric capacities 1600 mw in volume will be put in operation in Kazakhstan in 2015, said executive direction of Kazakhstani electric energy association.
"In the period from 2009 until 2014 the annual volume of investments into the electric power industry has increased by 5 times and made up approximately 700 bln tenge. It provided modernization of 500 mw of operating and launch of 1700 mw additional electric capacities. Until the end of 2015 this volume will reach 330 mw," reads the statement.
Since 2016 a long term capacity market will be put in operation where investors will be guaranteed investments repayment through obligatory acquisition of capacities.
