20% of Kazakhstani schools will provide education for disabled children by 2015
Astana. April 21. KazTAG - 20% of schools will provide education for disabled children by 2015, said Tamara Duisenova, Minister of Labor and Social Protection.
"We plan to create barrierless school environment in about 20% of schools. 9 000 places will be provided for disabled children within the state program of education development in 2011-2020, now these children are educated at home. It includes acquisition of computers, accessorial technical appliances, the Internet connection," she said.
In her words 43% of special educational organizations are equipped with expensive multimedia educational systems (Eduplay, Multikid, Sound beam), stimulating cognitive development of disabled children.
"Annually about 2800 disabled children are educated in universities and colleges. Many of them provide scholarship support," she said.
