20 tons of Kazakhstani apples banned for import to Russia destroyed
Almaty. May 13. KazTAG - 20 tons of apples banned for import from Kazakhstan to Russia have been destroyed in the Chelyabinsk region, reports the Russian agricultural surveillance service.
"A vehicle was stopped at the customs zone through Bugristoye checkpoint which was carrying apples. 20 tons of fresh apples were being transported without accompanying documents from Kazakhstan," reads the report.
In the time of inspection labels were found on the boxes indicating Poland as a state of origin.
"There were the traces of re-labeling and removal of labels. The boxes were taken to a warehouse," said the report.
Later it was revealed the indicated Kazakhstani manufacturer had no apple plantations and it was not an apples supplier.
The Russian agricultural surveillance office ordered to destroy the apples.
