3 energy blocks at Ekibastuz GRES to be affected due to obstacles of energy sale
Pavlodar. May 16. KazTAG - Due to the obstacles of energy sale in Pavlodar region 3 energy blocks at Ekibastuz GRES-1 and GRES-2 are staying idle, said Duisenbay Turganov, deputy akim of the region.
"Unfortunately as we cannot adequately trade with Russia 3 blocks to 500 mW are staying idle. This year after GRES-1 reconstruction we will launch one more block 500 mW. It means that more than 2000 mW will be non demanded. There is no consumption growth on the domestic market," he said.
In his words, one block is staying idle at Ekibastuz GRES-2, two blocks at GRES-1 are in the reserve.
"As we cannot unload these stations we have problems with coal companies. The Government is working on these issues as it is a serious problem of electric power export," he said.
In his words, energy consumption in Kazakhstan makes 90 bln kWh, 300 mW are exported to Russia.
