44 passengers applied for medical aid after train derailment in Atyrau region
Astana. April 21. KazTAG - 44 passengers have applied for medical aid after train derailment en rout "Almaty-Atyrau" at Zhenterek Kenbay haul in Atyrau region, reports the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
"There were 586 passengers and 35 staff on the train, there were 210 passengers and 12 staff in the derailed coaches. 44 passengers applied for medical aid, 21 of them were taken to hospital," reads the message.
Other passengers have been evacuated to Makat station where they received psychological aid.
The accident caused delay of Atyrau-Astana train by 4 hours, Mangyzhlak-Astana- by 5 hours, Mangyshlak-Almaty - by 30 minutes, Atyrau-Aktobe- by 5 hours, Astana-Atyrau - by 6.30 hours.
The train derailed at 6.00 amon April 19. The train consisted of 19 coaches. More than 10 coaches derailed.
