“The first 500 meters of track have been laid on the overpass section between stations No. 116 and No. 117. This testing stage will allow us to study the impact of winter weather conditions on the condition of the superstructure of the light rail transport (LRT) track,” reads the report.
A double track will be laid on the 22.4 km long overpass. The laying technology includes a standard track width of 1435 mm for compatibility with international standards, seamless laying to reduce noise and vibration, and frost-resistant sleepers protected from cracking.
Preparation of materials continues in winter, and active laying of rails along the entire length of the overpass will begin with the arrival of the warm season. Full completion of the work is scheduled for 2025.
