"From the beginning of 2020 66 measles cases have been recorded in Almaty, including 52 cases among unimmunized children and 14 cases among adults without the data about immunization. There is no epidemic threshold for measles, as the infection can be controlled by vaccination," reads the statement.
In comparison to the first decade of January last year, measles morbidity in Almaty increased by 10 cases.
"The main contingent is children who did not get the vaccination," said the report.
