"2.3 bn people are into computer games in the world. 51% of games use mobile devices. The market of video games is expected to reach $140 bn in 2018. Over a half of this sum will be a part of mobile gaming," reads the report of New Zoo company.
"The number of people who have access to the Internet in developing countries in recent years has grown dramatically due to proliferation of smartphones from Chinese manufacturers and investments by the authorities of countries in the infrastructure of mobile Internet," reads the report.
Researchers note that many players do not have much income. Therefore, they can not afford to spend a lot of money on the game, buying numerous apps, improvements and bonuses. However, gamers bring revenue to developers even in free games, for example, viewing ads.
It is expected that the cost of games for users by 2021 will increase to $ 180 billion, and the average annual growth will be 10.3%. The Pacific region will become the most profitable, it will account for about $ 71.4 billion - more than 50% of the total world income.
