About 160 km of cycling tracks to be constructed by EXPO-2017 in Astana
Astana. July 1. KazTAG - Up to 160 km of cycling tracks will be constructed in Astana by 2017, reports the official site of the city akimat.
"Within the frameworks of the project Astana Bike up to 160 kilometers of cycling tracks will appear in Astana until 2017, including the bank of Yesil river and cycling routes to the objects of EXPO-2017 exhibition," reads the publication posted on astana.gov.kz.
The project Astana bike will improve ecological situation in the city, reduce car traffic and motivate people to go in for sports.
Up to 100 bike-stands will be equipped in Astana, which will also provide bikes for rent.
"The first half an hour will be free, next hour will cost only 100 tenge," reads the message.
