About 2% of poultry died from bird flu in Kazakhstan for the first time in 15 years - Ministry of Agriculture

Astana. October 20. KazTAG -  About 2% of poultry have died in Kazakhstan from bird flu for the first time in 15 years, said Saparkhan Omarov, Minister of Agriculture.
“The cases of bird flu were recorded in Kazakhstan in 2020, first time since 2015. From September 22 to October 19, the death of birds was recorded in private farmsteads - 26.5 thousand heads. In total, 873 thousand heads died from bird flu, which was 1.9% of the total poultry population, ”Omarov said.
Quarantine has been declared and a ban has been imposed on import and export of poultry.
