About 200 thousand people left Kazakhstan for other CIS states within five years

Almaty. September 20. KazTAG - About 200 thousand people have left Kazakhstan within five years for other states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), said Aleksandra Molchanovskaya, managing director of the Center for the Development of Human Resources of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
“The negative balance in the external migration makes 22 thousand people (per year - KazTAG). The main direction is the CIS countries, where over the past five years almost 200 thousand people have left, ”said Molchanovskaya.
Internal migration has been growing in Kazakhstan.
“Due to the pandemic, the pace of migration flows has slowed down. Nevertheless, the migration rate in 2020 was twice as high as in 2015, ” she added.
