About 8% of commodity circulation of China and EU to flow through Kazakhstan by 2020
Astana. November 3. KazTAG - About 8% of commodity circulation between China and the European Union will flow through the territory of Kazakhstan within the frameworks of "Western Europe-Western China" corridor construction, reports the official site of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
"The new transport projects let Kazakhstan account for increased volumes of transit cargoes flow, according to the experts to up to 8% of total commodity circulation between China and EU," said Yerlan Karin, director of Kazakhstani institute of strategic research under the President of Kazakhstan.
In his words, Kazakhstan aspires to expand transport corridors between Asia and Europe and create intersecting routes from the east to the west, from the north to the south.
"The volume of foreign trade between Kazakhstan and EU may increase from current $500 bln to $800 bln by 2020, the share of freight transportation between China and Europe will increase to 170 mln tons," he said.
