Activist could not depart to PACE session in EU due to police prohibition in Almaty without explanations
Almaty. June 24. KazTAG - Activist Daniyar Khasenov could not depart to the session of the Parliament Assembly of Council of Europe following prohibition of police of Almaty without any explanations, reports Radio Azattyq.
"I had to depart at 6.45. First to Istanbul, then to Europe. I have a Schengen visa and an invitation. I have no debts. No criminal cases against me. But they took away my passport at the border control saying "Almaty department of interior affairs prohibited my departure from the state". I got a notification. But it did not say about the reason. Then I got my passport with this notification," he said.
The activist had received an invitation to PACE session which will be held on June 25. The session planned to discuss the situation with human rights in Kazakhstan. According to the activist, now he will not have time to come to the meeting.
PACE session will cover the situation with human rights not only in Kazakhstan, but also in Georgia and Moldova.
