Almaty. January 17. KazTAG - The activists from Atazhurt Eriktileri public union have passed a letter to the UN committee on human rights about Kaster Musakanuly and Murager Alimuly requesting a political asylum in Kazakhstan.
"I have just passed the letter. I went there alone. Balzhan Oshakbayeva, UN representative, receives the letters there," said Yerbol Dauletbek, director of Atazhurt Eriktileri movement after exiting the UN office in Almaty.
A group of activists came to the UN office together with him.
"Kaster Musakanuly and Murager Alimuly crossed the border from China to Kazakhstan on October 1 2019. They were detained by the NSC border service on October 14. Currently they are in the temporary detention center in Ust-Kamenogorsk, East Kazakhstan region. In an interview with NSC Deputy Chairman Darkhan Dilmanov, it was stated that they would be deported back to China, thereby pushing them to obvious death. Because their place of residence in China -  the Ile-Kazakh Autonomous Region, Tarbagatai Region,  Dorbildzhinsky District was subjected to political pressure in the most powerful way. We ask you to pay attention to this matter, grant these two compatriots refugee a status and help them to stay in their homeland," said the activists in their statement.
