Administrative sanctions may be created in Kazakhstan for illegal installation of foreign satellite TV

Astana. April 1. KazTAG - Administrative sanctions may be imposed in Kazakhstan for illegal installation of foreign satellite TV, reads the draft law "On introduction of changes and amendments into some legal acts on information in Kazakhstan".
"There is a need to impose administrative sanctions for spread and illegal installation of foreign satellite devices. It is planned to empower the local executive bodies with inspection, which will bring effectiveness in the performance of the legislation in the field of TV and radio broadcasting and mass media," reads the draft law.
Today TV keeps the leading position as the most popular and demanded media in the state.
"By 2020 over 95% of population will be covered with digital TV, while availability of OTAU TV has reached 28%. However, today there is a problem of broadcasting of foreign satellite operators in Kazakhstan as they are not registered on the territory of Kazakhstan (RadugaTV, Tricolor TV, NTV+, Orion Express, Yamal, Hotbird, Platform HD, Telekarta)," reads the message.
