Afghanistan doubled import of Kazakhstani flour in January-May

Astana. July 9. KazTAG - Kazakhstan increased export of wheat and wheat-rye flour to Afghanistan in January-May 2014 to 265.9 thousand tons to $88.5 mln, 308.3% up in quantity and 270.5% up in cost year on year, reports the customs control committee of the Ministry of Finance.

According to the published data, without accounting the Customs Union's states Kazakhstan increased flour export in January-May 2014 to 765.4 thousand tons to $223.7 mln, 25.1% up in quantity and 11.3% up in sum year on year.

The largest buyers of Kazakh flour were: Uzbekistan - 376.7 thousand tons (3.8%) to $ 94.9 million (-12.4%), Afghanistan - 265.9 thousand tons (308.3%) to $ 88.5 million (270.5%), Tajikistan - 73.4 thousand tons (-9.4%) to $ 23.8 million (-20.4%), Kyrgyzstan - 25,4 thousand tons (- 57.8%) to $ 6.6 million (-65.1%), Turkmenistan - 21.7 thousand tons (23.8%) to $ 8.9 million (0.7%).

Small parties of Kazakh flour were also exported to: Mongolia - 1490 tons, Moldova - 440 tons, Azerbaijan - 136 tons, China - 82.6 tons, Georgia - 68 tons, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates - 20 tons each.
