African sorgo to be planted in Kyzylorda
Kyzylorda. May 11. KazTAG - Kyzylorda farmers will grow African sorgo, reports the regional akimat.
"New fodder- African millet and sorgo will be planted at the fields of the region to develop cattle breeding and improve fodder base," reads the message.
Three meters spikes of African sorgo have been grown at the fields of the scientific institute of rice growing. The seeds were imported from Africa. "The culture may be grown several times in a season. (...) For example we receive 40 tons of crops from the first mowing, the second mowing comes in 35 days. The culture is easily adoptable in our climate conditions, it may grow at salty lands," said Ibadulla Tautenov, deputy director of the scientific institute.
