Aktau residents conducted folk ceremony to call rain
Aktau. May 5. KazTAG - The residents of the 14th micro district of Aktau conducted "Tasattyk" ceremony to call rain.
"Tasattyk" - is an ancient ceremony related to centuries-long traditions of Kazakh people. In the period of long lasting drought people butchered a sheep with a pray for the rain. There was no rain in March and April this year. To avoid drought, keeping the ancient tradition, we sacrificed a sheep today," said Abubakir Ospanov, resident of the micro district.
80 families took part in the ceremony.
