“With the commissioning of the new terminal in Almaty, the airport’s passenger traffic exceeded 11 million passengers, almost doubling compared to the pre-COVID period, making it the busiest airport in Central Asia,” Koser said at a government meeting.
In his words, Almaty Airport ranks first in Kazakhstan in terms of cargo traffic, handling 70% of all air cargo traffic.
“The passenger satisfaction rate increased from 3.07 last year to 4.4 on a five-point scale. The airport recently received four stars from the international organization Skytrax (an international organization specializing in determining air transport ratings),” Koser added.
