Astana. January 9. KazTAG - Nearly 1 bn tenge have been allocated to catch and liquidate stray cats and dogs in Kazakhstan in 2018, reads the response of Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev to a request from a group of Majilis deputies.
"929 723 264 tenge have been allocated from the local budget for capture and liquidation of stray cats and dogs. Since the beginning (2018 - KazTAG) 211 008 cats and dogs have been liquidated," reads the statement.
In addition, in order to prevent rabies 980 590 dogs and cats were vaccinated in 2018 .
Also in his reply B. Sagintayev said that adoption of the republic-wide rules on maintenance and walking of domestic dogs and cats is inappropriate, citing the fact that the relevant standards are developed and operate at the local level.
