Almost 120 Kazakhstani students returned from Hong-Kong due to protests

Astana. November 22. KazTAG - Almost 210 Kazakhstani students have returned from Hong-Kong due to protests, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The General Consulate jointly with the association of Kazakhstani students in Hong-Kong got in touch with all the students from Kazakhstan and recommended them to leave the city. Up to date 208 our students have left. In the near future, other 14 students will leave. Some of the students left Hong-Kong without notification of Kazakhstani diplomats," said Aibek Smadyarov, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He reminded Hong-Kong did not impose the state of emergency.
"We recommend returning to Kazakhstan only to our students, as the universities have suspended the classes until the next semester- January 2020. It is just a recommendation, we cannot force anyone. Diplomats stay in touch we the students who stayed there, in any case, we are always ready to help," he added.
