Almost 4000 kg of sturgeons withdrawn from poachers

Astana. May 28. KazTAG - Almost 4000 kg of sturgeons have been withdrawn from poachers by the frontier guards of Kazakhstan and Russia in the Caspian sea during the operational preventive arrangement, reports the press service of the border service of the National Security Committee.
“In the period from March 31, 2020,  the National Security Committee together with Russian Federal Security Service have been conducting peacekeeping operations to curb poaching and preserve resources in the Caspian Sea. (...) 763 sturgeon fish (3.8 thousand kg), common fish- 4947  (2.5 thousand kg), and 43 seals have been withdrawn from poachers," reads the report.
98 violators have been detained, 65 sailing facilities, 42 engines, four vehicles, poaching gears have been arrested.
The damage is estimated to 85.6 mln tenge.
