Almost 52500 convicts amnestied in Uzbekistan
Tashkent. March 5. KazTAG - 52 498 convicts have been amnestied in Uzbekistan, the amnesty was announced in late 2014 in connection with the 22nd anniversary of Constitution adoption.
"3289 people have been released from jails, the terms of others have been reduced, criminal prosecution was ceased in respect of some people in the past three months," said Aziz Abidov, spokesman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan.
The amnesty concerned 69 497 people in 2013, 3237 of them were set free.
