Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan involved in case of former executive secretary of Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan

Astana. October 17. KazTAG - The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan is involved in the case of Anarbek Karashev, ex executive secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan, said  spokesman of Foreign Ministry Aibek Smadiyarov.
“The question on the ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan is raised within the framework of the investigative actions in respect of former executive secretary A. Karashev. Our principled position is to establish and prevent any financial violations. The Foreign Ministry provides all-round assistance to the investigation," he said commenting on the information of the National Bureau for Corruption Combat.
Meanwhile, according to the president of the Internet Association of Kazakhstan, Shavkat Sabirov, people should not forget about the presumption of innocence.
“I would add that the presumption of innocence remains the main thing," he said.
The embassy of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan is suspected of embezzling budget funds on a large scale.
“The National Bureau for Corruption Combat  denounced the ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in embezzlement of budget funds on a large scale (...) The damage is over 140 million tenge. Unfortunately, due to the presumption of innocence, we will not declare the name and surname, but at the moment this is the current ambassador ," said a representative of the agency.
According to the information from open sources, the current ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan is Erik Utembayev.
