Annual inflation exceeded 13% in April in Kazakhstan - National Bank

Astana. May 18. KazTAG - Annual inflation amounted to 13.2% in April in Kazakhstan, reports the National Bank.
“In April 2022, the monthly increase in consumer prices amounted to 2%, annual inflation - 13.2%,” said the message.
Food prices climbed to 17.9% in April year on year. Prices for bakery products and cereals have been rising since November 2021 against the backdrop of reduced inventories from producers and rising global prices. Price growth for meat and dairy products accelerated as a result of rising producer prices.
The annual growth rate of prices for non-food products accelerated to 11.1% in April. Growth in prices for paid services in April 2022 accelerated to 8.9%. Prices for renting comfortable housing, hairdressing and outpatient services, restaurant and hotel services, air tickets have also increased.
