Approximately 100 foreign observers and journalists accredited for presidential election in Kazakhstan

Astana. May 6. KazTAG - Approximately 100 foreign observers and journalists have been accredited for the presidential election in Kazakhstan, reports the central electoral commission.
"Accreditation of observers from foreign states, international organizations is administrated by CEC by the order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It received application for accreditation of 45 observers on April 29, May 2 and 3," said Zauresh BAimoldina, member of the central electoral commission.
Out of the total number of applicants, seven are accredited as part of the CIS observer mission, 22 from the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) of the CIS member states, 12 from the mission of the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (ODIHR / OSCE) to observe the elections, four observers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) mission.
“According to information from the CIS and OSCE / ODIHR missions, more than 700 short-term observers are expected to arrive to the polls. As applications for accreditation are received, the data on observers will be updated. To date, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for accreditation has received applications from 53 foreign correspondents. In general, 94 journalists from 28 foreign media are accredited on a permanent basis at the Foreign Ministry," reads the message.
