ArcelorMittal Temirtau to pay over T1 billion for air pollution

Karaganda. June 8. KazTAG - ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC will pay over T1 billion for air pollution.
“The main violations are exceeding the established standards for maximum permissible emissions in the following shops, such as: coking, CHP-2, sintering, blast furnace, sheet-rolling No. 2, No. 3, lime roasting shop. The department imposed an administrative fine for violation of environmental legislation in the amount of KZT1,207,287,661,” said the press service of the Department of Ecology for Karaganda region.
Unscheduled inspection of the enterprise’s workshops was carried out from September 5 to October 3, 2022 as part of the implementation of the Road Map program.
