Astana. April 7. KazTAG - Aromatic hydrocarbons complex will be launched at Atyrau refinery in the second half 2014, said Uzakbay Karabalin, Minister of Oil and Gas.
"100% of basic equipment has been delivered to the aromatic hydrocarbons complex, construction-installation works are underway. The project will be launched in the second half 2014," he said at the Governmental hour in the Majilis.
The consortium consisting of Sinopec engineering (China), Marubeni (Japan), and KazStroyService started operation on the contract base at Atyrau refinery on the deep processing complex. This project will be completed in 2016.
According to the Minister, a contract for the first stage of work with Romanserv has been signed on the modernization project of Pavlodar refinery.
The strategy of accelerated project implementation and transfer to the investment stage has been approved at Shymkent refinery, the decisions on general contractor selection and financing scheme have been taken. Construction works are underway.
