Astana akim promised to shut down all metal collection points following discovery of boy's body in well

Astana. February 20. KazTAG - Bakhyt Sultanov, Astana akim, promised to shut down all the metal collection points in the city following discovery of the body of 13 years old Omirkhan Bakdaulet in a well.
"We will conduct raids throughout all the points to reveal metal collection points in the private sector, unfortunately, due to liberalization anyone can open such points, but it is forbidden in a private sector, we will take measures to shut down metal collection points," he said.
The akim said "fatalities due to opened wells is an important question".
"Unfortunately there have been fatalities, we are taking emergency and systematic measures. Investigatory bodies and communal services checked 65 000 wells. We blocked high wells dangerous for people with special bars so that when these hatches are stolen, people would not fall down. We have taken the decision to install polyethylene nets in all the wells. In winter wells are covered with snow and people do not see the danger," he said.
