"I have noticed a negative trend in the central streets and avenues which are being repaired and extended. They hardly finish the repair works when giant refueling stations appear there. They are growing like mushrooms," said Daniyal Akhmetov, akim of the East Kazakhstan region.
He said the extended avenues will not have good capacity and will be loaded even more if drivers go to the refueling stations.
"The number of objects of oil and gas infrastructure must be minimized on the highways and large central streets for security reasons and to unload the road. Don't turn the central streets of Ust-Kamenogorsk into refueling stations," he added.
