“On April 16, snow avalanches with a volume of 4,000 cubic meters went down at avalanche sites located in the Medeu district (Alpine camp area). There were no casualties or injuries,” reads the statement.
Kazhydromet weather forecasters received a storm warning that due to heavy precipitation and unstable snow conditions in the Ulken and Kishi river basins of Almaty, avalanche danger remains.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations asks people to limit visiting mountainous areas.
