Average speed to be lowered down al-Farabi, Sain, Eastern belt road in Almaty since January 15
Almaty. December 26. KazTAG - The average speed will be lowered down al-Farabi, Sain streets and the Eastern belt road in Almaty since January 15 2019, reports the city police department.
"In order to lower the mortality rates on the roads the average speed will be lowered from 80 to 60 km/h down al-Farabi, Sain, and Eastern belt road in Almaty since January 15 2019," reads the message.
According to Saltanat Azirbek, official representative of police department, 4203 traffic accidents have been fixed in Almaty since January, the majority of them were fixed in the areas with the speed regime from 60 to 80 km/h, that makes about 12 accidents daily.
"121 people have died in traffic accidents in Almaty since January. I.e. one person dies on the roads of Almaty every three days. The world experience has proved that reduction of average speed is one of the most effective and easiest ways to lower mortality on the roads," she said.
