Book prices increased by 3.7% over the year in Kazakhstan

Astana. April 23. KazTAG — Book prices in Kazakhstan have risen by 3.7% over the year, reports the statistics agency.
“Books in Kazakhstan became more expensive by 3.7% compared to the same month last year In March 2024,” reads the report.
The volume of services provided by publishing companies increased by 0.8%.
“The volume of services provided by publishing companies in January-December 2023 amounted to a total of KZT70.2 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of services increased by 0.8%,” the statement reports.
Newspaper publishing accounted for KZT23.5 billion, book publishing – KZT16.7 billion, and other types of publishing activities accounted for KZT9.7 billion.
