Cargo plane flying from Bishkek crashed in Iran
Almaty. January 14. KazTAG - Cargo plane Boeing 707 en route from Bishkek has crashed on Monday in the suburbs of Teheran, at least 10 out of 16 crew members have died, reports IrTAG.
"The crash occurred in the suburbs of Teheran. Despite complicated meteorological conditions, rescuers, a helicopter and over 10 ambulances have arrived to the scene,” reads the message.
There were 16 crew members aboard. The pilot has been rescued; at least 10 people have died. Seven bodies have been found on the scene.
According to Naser Jarhsaz, head of Red Crescent Society of Iran, the plane was operated by Kyrgyzstan Airlines, it lost control in the time of landing, reports IRNA.
The flight was on the way from Bishkek to Karaj, 40 km from Teheran. However, the pilots mistakenly started landing in a wrong airport and did not have time to land on the runway. The plane crashed into the wall of the terminal and ran into the area of residential buildings nearby the airport.
