Cellular communication operators agreed to lower interconnect fee by 28%
Astana. February 20. KazTAG - The cellular operators of Kazakhstan have agreed to lower the interconnect fee from 11.1 tenge to 8 tenge without VAT per minute, reports the committee of communication and information.
The session, held in the communication committee, involved Kazakhstani cellular operators- Kcell, Kar-Tel, Mobile Telecom Service and Altel- chaired by Vice Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev.
The operators agreed to lower the interconnect fee from 11.10 tenge to 8 tenge without VAT per minute.
"We have acted as a dialogue ground for the operators to reach a common decision. As a result this year the interconnect fee will lower by 28%. It is supposed to boost competition at the market and reduce expenses of consumers," said Zhumagaliyev.
The parties agreed to lower the interconnect fee to 5 tenge without VAT per minute since January 1 2016.
