"The decree "On registration of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as a presidential candidate in the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled on June 9 2019 has been taken," reads the message.
According to CEC, the trustees of Tokayev have collected 315 910 signatures of people supporting him in 17 regions of Kazakhstan.
"313 653 of them have been recognized authentic. According to CEC regulation dated April 15 2019 N 13/237 at least 118 140 signatures must be collected. All the documents necessary for registration of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have been transferred to CEC and meet the requirements," reads the message.
As it was reported, Tokayev was promoted as a presidential candidate from Nur Otan party on April 23.
