China interested in energy cooperation with Kazakhstan
Astana. May 4. KazTAG - China is interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan in energy branch, reports the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning.
"Within the frameworks of the 47th session of managers of the Asian Development Bank held in Astana, Yerbolat Dosayev, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning conducted a bilateral meeting with Lou Jiwei, Minister of Finance of China. The parties negotiated cooperation and creation of Asian Bank of Infrastructure Development," reads the message.
Jiwei proposed to boost economic integration in the region.
"I think this bank will strengthen cooperation between the states of the region," he said.
He added the idea of the bank's creation came due to unbalanced development of China, and cooperation strengthening in the northern and western direction.
He indicated dynamic development of Central Asian states and expressed interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan in energy field.
Dosayev in his turn informed that Kazakhstan has oversupply of electric power in north-east of the state.
"We can consider transfer of electric power to China through the east of the state. Kazakhstan is exporting electric power to Russia, but the capacities of our state let us export much more. The potential is huge, we want to implement it," said Dosayev.
