China plans to increase Russian gas imports

Almaty May 29. KazTAG - China plans to increase imports of Russian gas, since the construction of the "Power of Siberia" gas pipeline is nearing completion, reports Russia Today.
It is noted that the final volumes and price have not yet been determined.
The "Power of Siberia" is a gas pipeline with a length of 4,000 km. It is intended for the transportation of natural gas from Yakutia to the Primorsky Territory and further to Asia. Gazprom, which is building the Russian section of the gas pipeline, plans to export 38 billion cubic meters of gas to China by 2025.
Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed a 30-year contract for gas supply through the "Power of Siberia" energy system in 2014. In September last year, the Russian side reported that the pipeline section from Yakutia to the border of China was almost complete.
Construction on the Chinese side began in April 2017 and is also close to completion. The pipeline is expected to start operation in December 2019.
