Chinese police detained five terrorists; 1.8 tons of explosives withdrawn
Almaty. May 27. KazTAG - The law enforcement bodies of China have detained five members of terrorist group in Sinzyan-Uygur autonomous region in north-west of China, reports the Xinhua news agency.
"The law enforcement bodies of China detained five members of a terror group in Sinzyan-Uygur autonomous district in north-west of China. Police withdrew about 1.8 tons of explosives," reads the message.
Earlier the police liquidated 23 groups of terrorists and religious extremists and detained more than 200 suspects. These groups were liquidated in Khotan, Kashgar and Aksu districts.
Anti-terror campaign started in Sinzyan on May 23 which will last until June 2015.
