Citizen of Kazakhstan running over child in South Korea sentenced to 2.6 years imprisonment

Almaty. January 10. KazTAG - The citizen of Kazakhstan running over a child in South Korea has been sentenced to 2.5 years imprisonment, reports the official mass media sources.
"2.6 years is the sentence declared to the citizen of Kazakhstan who ran over a 7 years old boy in South Korea," reads the report.
The parents of the child have not forgiven the defendant. They said more than $50.5 thousand were spent on his treatment, while the boy's mother and father had to leave their work to take care of their son.
The defense lawyer of the citizen of Kazakhstan Choi Hak Se, believes the sentence is unfair. In his words, it was proved in the court that the child crossed the road in the wrong place. The defendant stopped, made sure that medical aid was provided and then left. The lawyer said the defendant surrendered to the law enforcement bodies of Kazakhstan.
"The judicial ruling is based on the fact that the boy severely damaged his head. We are going to appeal and try to reach the agreement with the affected party. Probably, when the child rehabilitates, the parents will change their decision. My defendant cannot offer money for treatment as this sum is too big even for the citizens of Korea," said the lawyer.
