Clinical trials of Kazakhstani coronavirus vaccine started

Almaty. September 18. KazTAG - Clinical trials of the Kazakhstani  coronavirus vaccine have started, reports the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan.
"Clinical trials have begun for the QazCovid-in vaccine for the coronavirus infection, developed at the Scientific Research Institute for Biosafety Problems of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan," reads the report.
Healthy adult volunteers aged 18 to 50 are participating in clinical trials of the vaccine. The first phase of the study, which determines the safety of the vaccine, involves 44 volunteers who have not recovered from coronavirus and do not have antibodies. The second phase, aimed at testing immunogenicity, is planned to involve 200 volunteers.
688 applications have been submitted to take part in the clinical trials.
